It’s hard to believe that Korea is the only place in the world where the term ‘korean’ is used in a derogatory way.
However, if you are looking for a way to celebrate a festival that is celebrated all over the world, the Kpop craze has you covered.
There are thousands of Korean incense sticks and charcoal burners on sale at your local market and they are easy to assemble.
You will need a large bowl and a piece of charcoal, which is about 1 inch thick.
To get started, start by pouring some water into a small bowl and stirring with a wooden spoon.
Then add the charcoal and stir until the charcoal has burnt.
When the charcoal is fully burnt, remove the bowl from the fire.
Place the charcoal on a countertop and set it aside.
Next, take a bowl and place it in a small pot.
Fill the bowl with water, stirring continuously until the water comes up to the surface.
Bring up the water to the boil and then boil for 10 minutes, stirring constantly.
After 10 minutes of boiling, remove from the heat and allow the charcoal to cool.
Remove the charcoal from the pot and let it cool completely.
Take the charcoal off the countertop, discard the ashes and place them in a large pot.
Next, pour some charcoal into a bowl.
Put the charcoal in a bowl covered with a lid and place the lid on the charcoal.
Add the lid to the charcoal bowl, cover the lid and leave to burn for 15 minutes.
Once the charcoal burns, remove it from the lid.
Repeat the process until all the ashes have burned away.
Allow the charcoal pot to cool to room temperature and then use it to carve the incense.
Assembling a charcoal burner There is nothing quite like carving incense into your own incense burners.
If you don’t have a charcoal burner handy, you can purchase one online or at your nearest Korean-language supermarket.
While the incenses are being carved, you will need to keep an eye on the temperature.
This is where the ‘temperature’ part comes in handy.
First, set the incenses on a baking tray with a small amount of water and place a piece on the tray.
Let it sit for 10 to 15 minutes until the temperature reaches 160 degrees Celsius.
Now, remove a piece from the tray and pour water into the bowl.
Stir continuously until it reaches the surface of the water.
The water will slowly evaporate and the water will form a white mist.
Continue pouring water into your bowl, stirring until the mist appears.
Leave the bowl to cool for 10 or 15 minutes and then add the ashes.
Again, add the water until the ash has burned away, and then pour the ashes back into the water bowl.
Once you have completed all of the steps, the water in the bowl will begin to boil and begin to release steam.
It’s a very easy and simple incense carving task that will have you enjoying the beautiful aroma of incense all day long.
